Dr. Vladimir Trajkovski is a full professor on Human Genetics, Physiology and Functional Anatomy, Medical Aspects of Disability, Autism at the Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, Macedonia. He is the President and one of the founders of the Macedonian Scientific Society for Autism (MSSA). He has been working on autism spectrum disorders for around 25 years. From 2008-2017 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation and from April 2018 to June 2022 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the international Journal for ReAttach Therapy and Developmental Diversity. Since August 2022, he has been the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, whose publisher is the University Alma Mater Europaea-ECM, Slovenia. In 2004, he introduced the topic of autism to postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. He was the Erasmus coordinator at the Faculty of Philosophy (2009-2013).
He has participated in more than 130 seminars, congresses, symposia and conferences at home and abroad. In the last 3 pandemic years, he has organized and chaired about 40 webinars and web conferences hosted by the MSSA. He is actively involved in the preparation and implementation of 20 technical and scientific national and international projects. He has undertaken study tours to nine European countries. He is the author of 12 textbooks, practicums and monographs, about 110 articles in national and foreign journals, including 15 in impact factor journals, and 67 abstracts in international conferences.
He was a visiting professor at the South Western University "Neofit Rilski" in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
Since March 2020, he is a visiting professor at the University Alma Mater Europaea - ECM in Slovenia. There he teaches "Social Inclusion of People with Autism Spectrum Disorders" and "Therapeutic Approaches II" as part of a postgraduate studies and takes a part in their conferences "It's All About People" and all activities regarding autism field.
For the last nine years he has been continuously involved in the training of young researchers and scientists in Macedonia within the Macedonian Association of Medical Editors. He contributed to the organisation and teaches at three workshops: "Ethics in Scientific Writing and Publishing in Biomedicine and Related Fields" and several "Open Access Week" and "Peer Review Week".
Since November 2022, he has been vice-chair of the management committee of CUPID COST project. The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje appointed him Faculty Coordinator for Journal Indexing and Scientific Publishing in November 2022. In May 2023, he became Secretary General of the Macedonian Association of Medical Editors. Other academic activities include: Member of the Macedonian Society of Human Genetics, member of the editorial boards of 5 international journals and he participates in the work of various committees of international associations and societies (Autism Europe, European Association of Services for People with Disabilities, International Association of Scientific Studies for Intellectual Disabilities) dealing with autism, intellectual impairments and disability at all.
He is the recipient of the Best Scientist Award from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in the field of Biomedical and Health Sciences for 2017.
