am writing to invite you to submit an article to Advances in Mental
Health and Intellectual Disabilities (AMHID), a peer-reviewed journal
that publishes original research as well as review articles. The journal
provides a vital and pioneering source of information specific to the
mental health needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
AMHID
integrates current research with practice and keeps researchers and
professionals up to date with a variety of different perspectives in the
field.
The
editors welcome the submission of papers from researchers,
practitioners, managers and academics who are involved in research with
or delivering practice to people with intellectual disabilities.
Articles include:
. current research
. developments in the design and delivery of services
. policy and its implications for practice
.
clinical case studies, enabling professionals to learn from the
experience of others and to improve their own practice
. resource reviews.
The special issues in 2015 will include the following topics:
. Diagnostic assessment of autism
. New developments in autism research
. ADHD and intellectual disabilities
. Prison populations with intellectual disabilities
. The 'inbetweeners' - those who fall between traditional services
. Children with intellectual disabilities
. Physical comorbidity in autism
. Integrated care for people with intellectual disabilities
